Performing at events across Manchester and the North West every week. From corporate dinners at The Midland to weddings at Victoria Warehouse - I bring sleight of hand, mind reading, comedy and pickpocketing that turns any event into the one your guests won't shut up about.

Hey! I'm Close-Up Chris
Manchester is one of my busiest cities and has been for over two decades. The Midland, Hotel Gotham, Victoria Warehouse, Castlefield Rooms, The Lowry Hotel - I know the venues, the event managers, and exactly where to set up for maximum impact.
I combine four disciplines into one set - sleight of hand, mind reading, pickpocketing and comedy. Most magicians in Manchester do one. I do all four, and I've had 28 years to get good at it. Whether it's a corporate awards night at Manchester Central or a wedding reception at King Street Townhouse, I'll read the room, work the crowd, and make you look like the host who thought of everything.
See it in action
This is what happens when a magician turns up who doesn't just do card tricks. Real gasps, real laughter, and the kind of reactions your event photographer lives for. No polite applause - just genuine "how the hell did he do that" faces.
I've performed at everything from black-tie dinners at The Midland to house parties in Didsbury. The venue changes, the reactions don't.

You won't find this anywhere else. The Close-Up Corner is the UK's first and only dedicated magic booth - a 3-metre backdrop, LED lighting, and a magic table where small groups get an intimate magic show right in front of them.
It draws crowds like a magnet and gives your Manchester event a focal point that lasts all night. I've set it up at 20 Stories, The Stables, the Marriott Victoria & Albert, and private parties across Salford and Stockport. If you want something your guests have genuinely never seen before, this is it.
