Hey! I'm Close-Up Chris
Staffordshire is home. I'm based in Rugeley, between Cannock Chase and the Trent Valley, and I've been performing close-up magic across this county since 1998. Sandon Hall, Alrewas Hayes, Hoar Cross Hall, Shugborough Estate, Weston Park, The Ashes Barns - I know the wedding venues, the corporate venues, the function rooms, the tricky load-in routes, and most of the event managers by first name.
Most magicians in Staffordshire do one thing - sleight of hand, or mind reading, or a bit of comedy patter. I do all four in one set, plus pickpocketing, and I've had 28 years to make it look effortless. Whether you need a wedding magician for a Sandon Hall ceremony, a corporate magician for a Burton-upon-Trent awards night, or a party magician for a Tamworth 50th, I'll read the room, work the crowd, and leave your guests still talking about it on Monday morning.
See it in action
This is what a room full of Staffordshire guests looks like when close-up magic hits. Not polite applause - proper gasps, belly laughs, and the kind of "no way" faces that make your event photographer's night.
I've performed at everything from black-tie dinners at Hoar Cross Hall to engagement parties in Penkridge. The venue changes, the reactions don't.

You won't find this anywhere else. The Close-Up Corner is the UK's first and only dedicated magic booth - a 3-metre backdrop, LED lighting, and a magic table where small groups get an intimate close-up show just for them.
It draws crowds like a magnet and gives your event a focal point that lasts all night. I've set it up at corporate parties at Hoar Cross Hall, charity galas at Shugborough Estate, and everything in between. If you want something your Staffordshire guests have genuinely never seen before, this is it.
