Corporate Magician Birmingham

✨Close-Up Chris✨ here, Birmingham Magician and top corporate magician!

Apparently, magic still isn’t dead—at least not at the Edgbaston Park Hotel. That’s where I turned up recently, summoned by NoBlue2 for their corporate do.

Truth is, this gig came from a recommendation. One of NoBlue2’s crew clocked me working as a Christmas Party Magician last December. Yes, that party—where the infamous Close-Up Corner made its debut as the UK’s first (and only, because nobody else is daft/brilliant enough) magical booth. Someone saw the magic, survived, and still thought it was a good idea to recommend me. Always a good sign.

Why the Close-Up Corner Leaves Mix & Mingle in the Dust

Now, everyone loves a magician who mingles and interrupts them mid-prawn cocktail, right? It’s classic—but honestly, the Close-Up Corner does it better. Here’s why:

  • Distraction-Free Zone: The magic happens in its own 3-metre-wide booth (yes, size matters), so people actually watch instead of wishing their conversation about quarterly KPIs was more interesting.
  • No Unwanted Surprises: Guests drop by when they want. No ambushing or awkward card tricks sneaked between mouthfuls.
  • Maximum Focal Point: Let’s face it, people love a spectacle—especially while holding a burger and trying not to embarrass themselves at axe throwing.
  • Unfiltered Reactions: With all eyes focused, the reactions are bigger, better, and—let’s be honest—sometimes a bit dramatic. You’ll see in the video: gasps, laughter, and a few double-takes I should really start charging extra for.

Not Your Average Office Party

Edgbaston Park Hotel sets the scene—yes, I’ve wowed wedding crowds there before, but this was next-level. Sun beaming, drinks flowing, and the kind of team-building activities that suggest HR likes to live dangerously: axe throwing, clay pigeon shooting, and a caricaturist (who’s started capturing my best side; shame I don’t actually have one!).

I got things rolling after the crowd had soaked up some sun (and maybe a little optimism from the bar). Once the Close-Up Corner booth popped open at 6pm, the fun started. People wandered over between “competitive” sporting attempts and, judging from the laughter, nobody left the magic booth questioning their life choices—at least, not this time.

A chunk of my bookings come from people who’ve seen the Close-Up Corner in action. Why? Because it’s not your run-of-the-mill “rabbit in the hat” routine—it’s a proper experience that gives your work event a talking point worth revisiting, and not just in the Monday-morning post-mortem.

Curious? Want your corporate event to offer more than lukewarm coffee and polite small talk?

Get in touch and let’s serve your guests some magic that doesn’t just break the ice—it obliterates it (safely, without the need for any PPE). If you want to see the chaos and delight for yourself, check out the reactions in the video. And if you’re up for something genuinely memorable (no, not axe-throwing injuries), let’s chat about making your next work bash magical—for all the right reasons.

Ready for some Close-Up Chris magic at your next event? Let’s make it happen!
